PERFECT PROPOSAL: Katie and Jordan met through mutual friends in 2011. Katie has always loved llamas; Jordan even has a llama tattooed on his arm for her. One day, Katie and her stepdaughter, Hallee, were getting their nails done, and when they came home they found a note on the door instructing them to go inside and look for the next note. Katie and Hallee searched the house and found another note with an address on it, which led them to the most beautiful llama farm. Upon arrival, Hallee jumped out of the car and ran past Katie disappearing behind a tree. When Katie caught up to her, she turned the corner to find Jordan and her future stepchildren waiting for her with flowers, champagne and lots of llamas. Here, the family of three proposed to Katie, and it was the happiest day!
THE VENUE: Barr Mansion & Artisan Ballroom was the perfect venue for the couple. The mansion features tons of gardens, huge oak trees, a Victorian home, and a beautiful reception space with exposed wood beams and a wall of windows overlooking the garden. Katie wanted the feel of a secret garden for her big day and that isn’t easy to find in the Texas Hill Country. She also loved how they provided the catering, lights, wedding and groom’s cakes, tables, chairs and linens. Barr Mansion made wedding planning simple!
GET HER LOOK: The bride wore a white gown with gathering in the bust and a satin ribbon around her waist. Katie’s veil featured delicate beading along the edges. The bride carried a bouquet full of lush peonies, English roses, eucalyptus and ranunculus.
WEDDING DAY EMOTIONS: When Katie’s time came to walk down the aisle, she was overwhelmed with emotion. She was happy, excited and eager to see her soon-to-be husband. The bride was thankful for everyone who was there and felt at peace knowing she had found the person she would be with forever – not to mention the immense love she felt for her stepchildren.
MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT: Katie and Jordan’s most memorable moment of the evening was when Jordan’s best man and son made his speech at the reception leaving the whole room in tears. Jordan’s son told the couple he had not planned a speech and surprised the newlyweds with his toast. He expressed his love for them and his excitement that they were married.
