Week after week, our team receives and showcases stunning weddings from across Austin, all courtesy of the immensely talented wedding vendors and lovely couples who submit to us. Each month, our editorial team selects one spectacular wedding to highlight, one that stands above the rest for its uniqueness and beauty.

This month, we’re spotlighting an eclectic hotel themed, New Orleans inspired celebration at Cypress Falls. Hunter and Blake said “I do” on September 21, 2024.

Do You Remember The 21st Night of September?

Earth, Wind & Fire would be thrilled—Hunter and Blake tied the knot on the 21st night of September in a wedding that was nothing short of magical. Hunter began her big day surrounded by her closest girlfriends, getting dolled up by Think Brink Beauty. Laughter filled the room, easing any wedding day jitters. She wore a romantic strapless jacquard gown with detachable bubble sleeves, her dark hair cascading in curls—a true Princess Ariel moment.

For their first look, a groomsman rowed Hunter across the water to the hidden cave at Cypress Falls, where Blake waited for his bride. Dressed in a striking green suit, he looked effortlessly dapper, with the lushest floral boutonniere peeking from his pocket.

A Ceremony Full of Soul

The ceremony was a tropical dream, with vibrant blooms from Florals Designs by Randi lining the aisle, leading to dual vertical floral arrangements that stole the show. Each guest’s white lawn chair held a handheld fan and a linen printed with The History of the Second Line Band, seamlessly weaving in the couple’s New Orleans-inspired theme. In a fun twist, the bridesmaids traded traditional bouquets for floral purses, adding a stylish, unexpected touch.

As Hunter walked down the aisle to meet Blake, love filled the air. After saying “I do,” the newlyweds led their guests in a spirited second line march, setting the tone for an unforgettable night.

A Reception to Remember

The Bauers brought New Orleans to Austin, and every detail was thoughtfully curated for the ultimate party. Guests were greeted with a retro hotel “check-in” installation, where they found their assigned seats attached to keychains—along with a welcome drink in hand. Adding to the fun, custom hats in the wedding’s vibrant neon palette were available as keepsakes.

The reception space was bold and eclectic, with teal velvet tablecloths, moody lamps reminiscent of a fortune teller’s shop, and a massive outdoor disco ball suspended over the dance floor. From live music and bubbles to an ice luge that kept the drinks flowing, every moment was a celebration.

Hunter and Blake didn’t just throw a wedding; they created an experience—one where love, music, and a little New Orleans magic came together under the Texas sky.
