Outdoor Spring Austin Wedding | Rachel + James

SWEET BEGINNINGS: Rachel and James met while out for brunch with a group of mutual friends. Someone asked the two if they were engaged that morning; even on day one, their chemistry was undeniable!

PERFECT PROPOSAL: Rachel was planning the couple’s weekly date night when James asked if he could take over the planning for that week. He told Rachel he wanted to get dressed up and go to a special dinner, but Rachel had to keep her eyes closed on the way there. When they arrived at their destination and Rachel opened her eyes, she was met with James down on one knee and a proposal. She happily said yes, and the two enjoyed a beautiful dinner at one of their favorite restaurants while watching the sun set over White Rock Lake. James even had one of their close friends, a talented videographer, film the entire thing!

THE SETTING: Rachel and James wanted their wedding day to be a celebration of their love for each other, the gratitude they felt toward the people surrounding them, and the commitment they made before God, their families and their dearest friends. The couple and their wedding planners, The Nouveau Romantics, let the natural beauty of the landscape at Le San Michele dictate the wedding décor.

DELICIOUS DISHES: Rachel and James wanted their guests to feel like they were at a fabulous dinner party, complete with comfort food, great wine and excellent conversation. The reception dinner was served family-style, along with margaritas, wine, beer and champagne.

STEAL THIS IDEA: Rachel kept a journal throughout the engagement season including notes from planning meetings, letters from loved ones and personal entries as she digested the whole experience. This made for one of the most special keepsakes from their wedding.
