An autumn color palette with a touch of blue will make your heart swoon this wedding season. With the help of Lotus Events, Amanda and Blair were able to create the wedding of their dreams at Camp Lucy. Amanda and Blair met while working as nurses together at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas. After short conversations over a couple of months, Blair posted on her facebook that she was sad to not see her family on Thanksgiving because she was working. Amanda saw the post, and when she saw Blair at work that night she gave her a hug. Several weeks later they went on their first date and the rest is history. The intentionality of the couple shown from their first meeting only carried over into their wedding day.
After getting ready, the couple shared a “first touch.” Amanda and Blair didn’t want to see each other until they walked down the aisle, so they did this instead while their vows were read to each other. This became one of their favorite parts of the day and reflected the authentic closeness of this couple. The intentionality was woven through every detail of their ceremony and reception. Fall colored florals by Whim Hospitality brought in whimsical detail that contrasted against the blue bridesmaid dresses and stone exterior of Ian’s Chapel at Camp Lucy. Both brides had elements of lace in their gowns that brought timeless beauty to the day. Their dog, Reba, starred as the flower girl and stole the show. Whim Hospitality also provided dark wood, long tables and chairs to create an intimate and romantic vibe at the reception. Autumn-colored centerpieces lined the tables as guest enjoyed dancing and cocktails in personalized glasses. Read more about Blair’s favorite vendor – her wedding planner, Lotus Events. Cheers to the Gerkens!

From the bride on her most helpful vendor: “Tara Blackwell, with Lotus Events, was an amazing coordinator and made the day run so smoothly. Amanda and I felt very relaxed during the day as we knew Tara had everything under control. During the planning phase, she was responsive to emails, texts and calls. She helped make our wedding beautiful, as she had suggestions that we did not think of. She is a true professional and is a fantastic coordinator.”
