Lexie Zell and Alex Baker’s Earthy Organic Austin Wedding at The Greenhouse at Driftwood

SWEET BEGINNINGS: Lexie and Alex met at a pool party through mutual friends. Alex was bold and asked for her number that afternoon, but they didn’t officially start dating for a couple of months. The couple visited each other every weekend in separate cities and soon became inseparable!

THE SETTING: The happy couple was wed at The Greenhouse at Driftwood. The gorgeous, unique Texas Hill Country venue was love at first sight for the bride and groom. The outdoorsy yet elegant feel of the space was exactly what they were looking for. The bride especially loved the lawn and deck space, the beautifully furnished 1970s home, and unbelievable greenhouses.

HUES SHE USED: Lexie and Alex thought their venue was stunning by itself, so they wanted to keep the color scheme neutral. They chose natural earth tones to complement the beautiful setting of their hill country wedding.

THE BLOOMS: The bride’s bouquet was a natural, organic, flowing bouquet of jasmine vine and one large beautiful king protea encapsulated by allium, scabiosa blooms, vibrant ranunculus, white peonies, roses and eucalyptus.

SPECIAL TRADITIONS: Lexie and Alex had a traditional Jewish ceremony and also had a ketubah ceremony prior to the wedding, which included the wedding party and family. To add further personal flare at the reception, they did the hora and were lifted up in chairs. Every element was so special for the bride and groom.

SPECIAL TOUCHES: Lexie and Alex had a living wall for the escort cards, which they loved. They also had the bridal party sit at long, wooden farm tables to bring a rustic feeling to their wedding. For a special touch, the bride wore a floral comb made by a friend in her hair, and all the bridesmaids wore flower clips to tie their looks together.

DELICIOUS DISHES: Lexie and Alex had hors d’oeuvres and a plated meal of short rib, salmon or gnocchi catered by Word of Mouth. Of course, they didn’t skip dessert! The dessert bar included brownies, lemon bars, cookies and cheesecake bites. The couple even served late-night mozzarella sticks!
